High PLA[subscript]2 levels in decidual tissue may underlie acute atherosis.

2004 JAN 19 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Elevated PLA[subscript]2 activity in decidual tissue may play a key role in the development of acute atherosis in women with preeclampsia.

According to recent research from Norway, "Decidual acute atherosis is associated with preeclampsia, but the underlying mechanism is still unclear."

"We have previously demonstrated elevated level of the oxidative stress marker 8-isoprostaglandin F-2alpha (8-isoprostane) and lipids in preeclamptic decidual tissue," noted A.C.
